Mindset: The New Psychology of Success

In her book Mindset: The New Psychology of Success Carol Dweck identified two different mindsets that influence change.

The fixed mindset appears in those who believe that success and progress come automatically to people who have innate ability, talent and intelligence eg the traditional educational system.

In contrast, those with a growth mindset assume that success comes to people who have a passion for continuous learning and a determination to keep going even when they encounter failure (aka feedback).

Fixed mindset people who believe in the power of innate talent "tend not to fulfill their potential because they’re so concerned about looking smart, not making mistakes, and staying within their comfort zone (aka the world as they see it)

But people who identify and nurture their talents are the ones who really push, stretch, confront their own mistakes… learn from them" and change

In other words, if you’re open to growth you tend to grow.

President Obama knows this. Do you .. ?!

Sidenote: Yesterday Fidel Castro was boasting he had outlasted 10 American presidents. The thing is though that in that time, the U.S. has been to the moon and back ….. and Cuba?! Keep hustling; the only limits are the ones you set yourself!
