Building a list is relatively easy
Building responsive list(s) takes a little more time and dedication
Building a complete client communication system involves a little strategy
(eg Integrating your list(s) with your blog with your social networks)
BUT as with all tools, much depends on who’s pushing the buttons!
And all the tools and tactics in the online world will make little difference if you don’t first have something somewhat original to say.
It’s easy to become consumed by the collective persuasive influence of your target audience (and the online world as a whole)
It’s more difficult to take a stand for something … to be an original.
The ancients had a word for discovering and living from our true self: They called it “metanoia”
Remember step-by-step programs are for those people who want to abdicate this basic responsibility of entrepreneurship, because they can then blame the creator of the programs if things don’t work out (even though it stands to reason any monkey in the world could have pushed the same buttons)
So ultimately people are on your list(s) for a reason, and the sooner you figure out what you personally add to the collective mix, the more ALIVE your list(s) will become.
