7 Steps For Coaches For Improving The Quality of Their List


For many, listbuilding has to be their #1 priority when starting out in building a coaching business.

Afterall the theory of constraints suggests that the answer to overwhelm is to become acutely aware of the ONE thing that is standing in your way RIGHT NOW (e.g. blocking your progress) and work on that first and foremost.

When you have a large list in your coaching business, everything changes.

When you communicate with your list on a regular basis, share tips and thoughts, you become an integral part of their lives.

More people get to know you and the value you generate.

As you are sharing with them, they see your expertise and feel your passion. So when they are ready, they know that they need to contact you.

So when people on your list need your products and services, they immediately think of you!

Now there are essentially 2 types of lists: Freebies and Buyers

So … here’s a simple 7 step method for attracting more buyers onto your list.

1. Create a viral product + let others sell it too (give them resale rights)

2. Make sure your product pre-sells you (eg is related to what you do)

3. Have links back to you and a squeezepage with a gift for them to signup to.

Here a double format can work well like a PDF special report that links back to an audio (action orientated interviews work really well as do “5 steps to XYZ” etc)

4. Ensure your gift is highly valuable and indemand

5. Add a flood of targeted instant traffic announcing your viral product. With just one short video (3-4 min), you can post it to multiple video sharing sites with a simple no cost tool.

6. Use Tube Mogul and also post it on your blog, Facebook and Twitter.

7. This is where it gets fun. Each video sharing site has an RSS feed, as does your blog, as does Twitter etc You can add ALL these feeds to RSS directories and you only need do it once.

From then on, your feed automatically updates the directories, which means backlinks, traffic, better SE rankings, and if your video is good (buzzworthy) – hopefully optins or subscribes/friend adds to your channel.

You now have your listbuilding / lead generation efforts running on marketing autopilot leaving you free to coach!

Remember with a decent size list, you can grow organically from there simply by overdelivering on value to your prospects and coaching clients, without having to chase every new fad in internet marketing.

Indeed there is only one possible reason to prevent you from taking immediate action in building your list size now (and ultimately your coaching business): You enjoy working crazy hours for little reward!
