Are You Playing Small?
Here are some signs of a mind in conflict:
• Feelings that Do Not Lead to Powerful, Positive Action - such as guilt, self-pity, hopelessness, irrational fear & anxiety, boredom, apathy & depression, etc.
• Mind-Numbing, Life-Wasting Addictions - things that you do habitually that consume and deplete your valuable resources of time, energy, and creative ability.
• Failure Addictions - self-destructive compulsions, such as doing drugs, gambling, overeating, alcoholic etc.
• Avoidance Addictions - watching TV, socializing, being a "workaholic," etc.
• "Self-Help" Addictions - patterns of looking for something outside of you to fix you: THE magic pill, THE final truth, THE answer.
• Authority Addictions - patterns of mindless following and obeying or mindless rebelling and disobeying, rather than consciously leading and creating. Also, patterns of controlling and manipulating others, rather than leading by example and creating.
• "Success" Addictions - patterns of trying hard to look good or better than - that success, happiness and enjoyment escapes us
• Struggles with Change and Self-Growth –difficulty doing what you said you were going to do
o Procrastination
o Difficulty stopping bad habits
o Difficulty starting new good habits
o Difficulty keeping commitments - to self and to others
My Question Today: Recognise any in yourself? Good, because change starts first with awareness, followed by a real desire to change.
