I’m a big believer in using online tools whereever I can. This way, I still have easy access to them when I travel, or if the worst happened protection against a computer crash or natural disaster.
1 Email: I have recently changed all my incoming email servers on all my domains to one central account at Gmail so I can access everything online, anywhere anytime. Gmail is also highly effective at filtering spam and of course with a high storage capacity, you can save all important emails and instantly find them through Google search.
2 Bookmarks: Foxmarks allows you to access your Firefox bookmarks online as well as easily synchronize them to your pc. I know several entrepreneurs who lost all their bookmarks recently through a Vista update!
3 Passwords: Roboform helps manage passwords, usernames and forms. With Roboform data in My Docs, it’s a breeze to reinstall Roboform and copy the data folder to a new pc or laptop. Invaluable when you have MANY passwords to keep and it protects your hands against RSI.
4. GoToMyPC This is one I have bookmarked for someday. It connects you to your laptop or desktop computer from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.
GoToMyPC allows you to operate your computer as though you were sitting in front of it. What you type on the keyboard in front of you shows up on your computer at home. And you can see the screen as well. As long as you have a reasonably fast internet connection, you’re good to go.
The GoToMyPC software runs on your “host” computer – the one you want to connect to. When you travel, log into the GoToMyPC.com and type in your username and password. Moments later, you’ll see your remote screen in front of you.

Useful tools. Just checked out Foxmarks and that’s definitely a tool I’ll utilize. Another option to Gotomypc is RHUB’s remote support/ remote access appliance. Only difference is that it’s hardware making it more secure and no monthly fees.
