The three easiest and most do-able continuity income streams include:
1) XXXX of the month Club
Simply give them something exciting to look forward to each month like a different aspect of marketing their business online.
2) Consumable Service Subscriptions
If you sell a consumable product, a line of products or a service that people use on a regular basis, offer them as a subscription option that gives them X amount of the product/service for a discounted price.
This differs from the product of the month in that your customers will have more choice involved in the product.
In addition, it will likely be marketed as a time and money-saver instead of a more exclusive nature.
3) Hybrid Physical Publications / Online Memberships
Offer physical goods by mail (newsletter, CDs, DVDs, etc) and increase the value by adding an online membership component.
The online membership can include downloadable versions of the content you send by mail and offer additional options to increase the perceived value of your offer.
The best bit about coming up with ideas for continuity income is just to try them. There is little work upfront. If there is little uptake, try another format (package) for delivering the same content!
Areas where you can get help
If you run an online membership site, consider hiring an editor that will be in charge of planning and posting monthly content.
Hire moderators and contributors for your forum or discusssion board.
Or you might get some to contribute for free, in return for a free membership or some other perk.
If you deliver physical products, look for a fulfillment company like Vervante that will package and ship the orders for you on autopilot.
Make sure that you don’t over-commit
It’s much easier to ADD perks at a later date than it is to take away perks from your members. Start small.
Make sure you carefully plan your workload and expenses, to achieve a decent profit with a comfortable level of work!
